The Head On Photo Awards 2026 are open to photographers worldwide. The competition uses fully anonymous judging and focuses on three categories: portrait, landscape and exposure.
The prize pool is AUD 80,000, including cash prizes, camera packages, prints and publication in a hardcover catalogue. Finalists are shown in a printed and online exhibition during Head On Photo Festival 2026.
Three categories
Photographers can submit work for portrait, landscape and exposure. The exposure category is intended for work that falls outside portrait and landscape, from documentary and street photography to fashion, fine art, wildlife, sport and travel.
The early-bird period runs through 20 July. The final deadline is 16 August 2026 at 23:59 Sydney time.
