Eve Arnold – All about Eve
Fotomuseum aan het Vrijthof presents a major retrospective on Eve Arnold, with 130 photographs from her Magnum body of work and a focus on the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.

Fotomuseum aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht presents All about Eve from 19 September 2026 to 31 January 2027, a major retrospective on American photojournalist Eve Arnold (1912-2012).
The exhibition shows 130 black-and-white and colour photographs from Arnold’s work, with an emphasis on the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Arnold became the first woman to join Magnum Photos in 1951 and is known for her social documentary work and intimate portraits of figures including Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford and Malcolm X.
Alongside celebrity portraits, the exhibition includes series and travel photographs from Afghanistan, China, Egypt, Haiti, India and South Africa. With an empathetic, humanist eye, Arnold used the camera to understand rather than judge.
All about Eve was created in collaboration with Magnum Photos and CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia in Turin.
