BIP2026 – Mirror Mirror
Biennale de l’Image Possible returns to Liège in 2026 with Mirror Mirror, an edition about portraiture, reflection, empathy and contemporary image culture.
The next edition of the Biennale de l’Image Possible, BIP2026, takes place from 17 October to 13 December 2026 in Liège. Under the title Mirror Mirror, the biennial focuses on portraits in all their forms.
BIP2026 connects photography with themes such as empathy, identity, self-representation and social tension. The edition explores how photography has changed the portrait genre since its invention and how images literally and figuratively hold up a mirror to us.
Alongside photography, BIP2026 also looks at other visual forms influenced by photographic image culture, from painting and drawing to AI-generated images. The programme is still in development.
