Bijvangst – Ursula van de Bunte

For Bijvangst, photographer Ursula van de Bunte portrayed women from different generations in Zandvoort. Their faces and stories connect life today with the history of the seaside village. Thérèse Schwartze's 1884 painting Zandvoortse vrouw was a source of inspiration for the series.

The photographic portraits are part of the wider exhibition Zandvoortse Vrouwen, which explores women's role in the development of Zandvoort. Alongside the photographs, paintings, archival material and video reveal how their lives and work have helped shape the village.
