Amsterdam Art Week 2026
Five days of contemporary art in Amsterdam, with exhibitions, open studios, guided tours and opportunities to meet artists.

The 14th edition of Amsterdam Art Week brings together more than 70 galleries, museums, project spaces, residencies and institutions. Discover contemporary art across the city through exhibitions, open studios and encounters with artists. The opening coincides with Rijksakademie Open Studios, where 48 international residents present new work.
From archives to imagination
The relationship between past and present runs through the programme. Frida Orupabo exhibits at Stevenson, while patricia kaersenhout explores the connections between language, imagery, imagination, colonial power and repair at AKINCI. At raam art space, Anouk Griffioen takes her late father's photo albums as the starting point for life-size charcoal drawings.
The relationship between people, nature and technology also features prominently. Mire Lee presents her first major solo exhibition in the Netherlands at the Oude Kerk. The group exhibition Naturocene at On The Inside explores the relationship between humans and nature, while Nxt Museum examines audiovisual storytelling in Pioneers of Media Art. Amsterdam Art Week spans a range of art forms and is not exclusively a photography festival.
Week programme
The joint opening with Rijksakademie Open Studios on Wednesday 18 November, from 17:00 to 22:00, is by invitation only. Galleries are not necessarily open to the public that day.
The Festive Gallery Night begins at 17:00 on Thursday. It is followed by an artist talk and screening at Eye Filmmuseum with Sohrab Hura, winner of the Eye Art & Film Prize 2025. The 2026 winner will also be announced.
Friday focuses on project spaces and institutions. Saturday features public events, followed by the official closing party at ISO Amsterdam’s new space in the evening. The week concludes with Family Sunday and events across the city, including activities at KiMu Children’s Art Museum in Amsterdam Noord.
Public guided tours visit participating venues every day. The In Depth Programme runs alongside these activities for art professionals and international guests. Further programme details will follow in October.
