Steve Bakhuis Photography
It all started when Steve left Curacao at the age of 19 to study abroad in the Netherlands. When missing his home, family and friends he felt the need to be able to look back at those moments which made him who he is and got him where he was.
This is when he realized there where many holes to be filled and he did not want this for the present. So he got himself his first camera in late 2006, which was the best thing he did for himself since going to the Netherlands as he enjoys it more and more.
It since became clear that it is easier for him to communicate true a picture then true words, and this is what he tries to do every time he takes a picture, tell something.
To educate himself more about the different field of photography Steve assessed different courses at the SKVR in Rotterdam. Also in June 2009 he followed a master class from the one and only Manuel Librodo in Amsterdam.
If it is a commercial job or not Steve is always passionate about the assignment. Communicating with the client and understanding his/her needs is his number one priority.
